COVIDIEN in collaboration with the Spanish Society of Coloproctology and the Spanish Society of Surgeons are pleased to announce a one year colorectal fellowship, commencing October 2009, at the Unit of Coloproctology of the Department of General and Digestive Surgery, at Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valencia. Spain.
The program has been established to promote excellence in colorectal surgery in Europe. The successful candidate would spend one year working from the 1st October 2009 till the 30th of September 2010 with the Coloproctology Unit of the Department of General and Digestive Surgery, Hospital Clínico Universitario, Valencia, Spain lead by Dr. Salvador Lledó Matoses (cirugia@telefonica.net).
The team has an international reputation for colorectal procedures and offers state of the art equipement in addition to a dedicated training facility.
The applicants should be members of the European Union and should already have finished their training in General Surgery.
Applications should be presented no later than the 30th July 2009.
Activities to be carred out during the program: Clinical activities as a specialist doctor tutored by the staff from the unit, with a minimun number of procedures which the Subspecialist in Coloproctology scholar must perform, participation in the educational activtities of the unit (courses and meetings), incorporation to the research projects, presentation of abstracts at the Reunión Anual de la Asociación Española de Coloproctología, Congreso/Reunión de la Asociación Española de Cirujanos, annual meeting of the ESCP and participation in scientific publications.
