Emerging Technologies in Coloproctology – Observatory

Dear Colleagues,
The Italian Society of Colorectal Surgery (“Società Italiana di Chirurgia Colo-Rettale”, “SICCR”) is collecting informations (on a patient’s no name basis) in relation to possible complications or adverse events after Emerging Technologies in Coloproctology.
In particular, “SICCR” is interested to monitor techniques such as:
Surgisis Anal Fistula Plug
THD – Ligasure (haemorrhoidectomy)
Durasphere – PTQ – coaptite
PPH
STARR – STARR with Contour Transtar
Botox (fissure-in-ano)
Tissucol – Cyanoacrilate (perianal fistulae) SECCA (faecal incontinence), Sacral Nerve Stimulation – Artificial Sphincter, TEM (rectal neoplasms), Colorectal Stents, etc. etc.
The aim of the above monitoring is to gather, within and outside SICCR, possible adverse outcomes of Emerging Technologies.
All the collected data will be collated and, subsequently, organised to publish one or more scientific papers, and, whoever will have significantly contributed, will be listed as a coauthor.

Therefore, in case of “observation” -either already happened or should it occur in the future- we would be grateful if you could fill up and return by email to luigi.basso@uniroma1.it the form attached to this message.

We suggest to:
1. SAVE a “blank” form
2. FILL a form for each patient
3. SEND by email (luigi.basso@uniroma1.it) the completed forms, either in one or in multiple expeditions.

Thanks for your cooperation.
Luigi Basso, on behalf of the Committee of SICCR.
